Technology Disaster Recovery & Incident Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly experienced Technology Incident & Disaster Recovery Coordinator to be responsible for our technology disaster recovery (primary) and incident management (secondary) programs. The role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and validating the organization’s technology disaster recovery capabilities to ensure the timely restoration of critical systems and services following a disruption while maintaining resilient, compliant, and tested disaster recovery plans. In addition, this individual will coordinate service restoration from a Technology or Information Security incident following the enterprise policy and procedures for Incident Management.

 

We are considering candidates with deep understanding and operational experience around technology disaster recovery and incident response methodologies with a commitment to continuously refine and improve response/resolution programs while fostering a proactive response & resolution culture.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technology Disaster Recovery

  • Build and improve technology disaster recovery plans (DRPs), and DR runbooks for infrastructure, applications, and networks platforms.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute regular disaster recovery tests, tabletop exercises, and failover drills.
  • Validate and continuously improve recovery procedures through simulations and real-world events.
  • Document test results, gaps, lessons learned, and remediation actions.
  • Ensure DR documentation aligns with business impact analyses (BIA), recovery time objectives (RTO), and recovery point objectives (RPO).
  • Alignment between technology DR and other Business Continuity teams to ensure recovery requirements are understood and achievable.
  • Act as technology disaster recovery coordinator during disaster recovery events.
  • Track DR KRI/KPIs, program progress/issues/decision points and provide timely status updates to leadership
  • Coordinate vendor and service provider recovery support when required.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing evidence of DR readiness, testing, and controls.

 

Technology Incident Management

  • Act as technology incident coordinator during disaster recovery events.
  • Lead the investigation, containment, and resolution of technology and security incidents, including cyberattacks, data breaches, and other security & technology incidents.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Ensure Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) and After Incident Reports (AIRs) are appropriately documented and collected and lessons learnt are incorporated into the processes for future awareness.
  • Foster a culture of incident awareness and preparedness within the organization through training and education initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels during and after an incident, ensuring clear and concise reporting.
  • Stay up to date on the latest cyber threats, technology trends, continuously updating incident response strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams, including vendors, Technology, Security, Legal, business lines, Operations and all required stakeholders, the impact of incidents.

 

Vendor, Internal Stakeholder & Systems Management

  • Manage relationships with critical application/service/system vendors and internal business stakeholders
  • Evaluate vendor performance and report adherence to established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Manage and drive system/platform maturity in following areas: mass notification, incident management and DR

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, OR at least 10 years of hands-on work experience in Information Technology / Information Systems
  • Five- 10 years of progressive experience in IT disaster recovery, incident response, incident communication or related roles
  • Preferred: Proven, in-depth experience within the Banking or Financial Services industry including familiarity with core banking systems, hardware/peripheral requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing incidents and disaster recovery events.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery & incident response methodologies, frameworks, and best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities
  • Experience with incident/change management IT Service Management (ITSM) tools (ServiceNow preferred).
  • Familiarity with following technology areas: FIS Horizon/IBS, Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V), network technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, routing, switching, firewalls), storage solutions (SAN, NAS), backup/recovery systems (e.g., Veeam, Commvault) and SaaS platforms (Azure, Microsoft 365, Zoom)
  • Exceptional team-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Customer-centric approach with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

 

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES

  • ITILv4 Foundation certification preferred

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. This position involves travel to customers and property locations.

PAY DETAILS:

$ 87,200 - $124,500 /annually

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. 

 

This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
