Senior Data Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Seeking a Senior Data Engineer with experience in the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing and implementing the data movement solutions using state of the art technologies to feed our data warehouse and the various downstream bank applications. The candidate will also provide support for post deployment related activities when needed and will be responsible for delivering results in a timely manner using Agile methodologies. This position serves a crucial role in collaborating with business, technology, and cross-functional teams. The individual will collaborate with these teams to implement comprehensive data engineering and architecture strategies as well as support and make contributions to an enterprise-wide data operating model that covers people, processes, technology, and governance. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and sustainment of executing data loads as well as supporting the data modeling of multiple infrastructure teams. The role requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Data Services teams to develop and maintain automated data transformation workflows using a mix of data driven products and solutions that adhere to privacy policies, procedures, and data framework standards. 
  • Provide technical support on data related issues, some support may fall outside of normal office hours on a pre-planned basis and at short notice in emergency situations.  
  • Identify and recommend process improvements. Build on ETL Framework and continuous process improvements. 
  • Create documentation for workflows, including escalation documentation.
  • Build and support operational history collection processes and notification/escalation workflows. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5 years minimum experience with data management tools (Ex. SAP Data Services, Informatica, SSIS, Azure Data Factory) metadata repositories, and data modeling concepts.
    • 5 Years minimum experience in the financial industry.
      • Minimum 5 years’ experience commensurate with job function
      • 5 years minimum Experience with ETL development platforms (e.g. SSIS, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, SAP Data Services, or Informatica)
    • Proficiency in SQL and PowerShell scripting.
    • Experience working with SQL Server, Windows Server file systems, including Active Directory.
    • Proven ability to build relationships with peers and customers.
    • Excellent documentation skills, leading to the development of effective standard operating procedures.
    • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
    • The ability to organize and plan work independently in a demanding environment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and their impact on data governance practices.
    • Familiarity with risk and control frameworks, including ISO, NIST, and COBIT.
    • Experience in Powershell, Python, C#, or Java.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. This position involves travel to customers and property locations.

Pay Details:

$ $82,200  -  $117,400  annually 

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. 

 

This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
