Senior Application Administrator - ServiceNow

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Application Administrator - ServiceNow - is responsible for the administration, configuration, and architectural design of the ServiceNow platform. This role ensures the platform is scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. The incumbent leads ServiceNow solution design, manages integrations, and partners with stakeholders to deliver robust ITSM, ITOM, and automation solutions.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design scalable, secure application configurations (multi‑node, HA/DR, certificates, SSO/LDAP, load balancing), ensuring best practices and alignment with business needs.
  • Administer, configure, and maintain ServiceNow modules, workflows, and integrations; manage upgrades and releases.
  • Lead incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning for ServiceNow; drive corrective actions and post-mortems.
  • Implement and maintain security controls (RBAC, encryption, audit logs); ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, automation, and monitoring to optimize platform performance and reduce manual effort.
  • Coach Application Administrators; maintain standards, runbooks, and knowledge articles.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5-7 years administering ServiceNow platforms, with proven experience leading complex changes and major incident resolution.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, AWS, CompTIA; security certifications are a plus).
  • Expertise in ServiceNow administration and architecture, including ITSM, ITOM, and custom application development.
  • Advanced scripting/automation (JavaScript, GlideScript, Flow Designer) and performance tuning; strong security/compliance knowledge and executive‑level communication.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree preferred; bachelor’s degree desirable (or equivalent experience).

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is mainly performed in a normal office environment.  Noise levels usually are moderate.

  • Occasional bending or overhead lifting (storing files or boxes)

Pay Details:

$82,200 - $177,400 annually

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. 

 

This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
