POSITION OVERVIEW
The Loan Accounting & Servicing Director oversees the daily servicing, funding, accounting, reporting and quality-control activities for the Bank’s loan portfolio. This leader is responsible for accurate, efficient and compliant operations, develops effective management tools and processes, and serves as a key liaison among lending teams, business units, investors, regulators and auditors. The Director will also lead efforts to modernize operational capabilities so the Bank can scale and grow effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loan Servicing: Lead loan servicing operations, including the loan boarding process, workflow refinement, service-level performance and coordination with closing and lending partners.
- Loan Funding: Oversee third-party distributions and reconciliations, payment processing, investor review and related controls; strengthen processes and maintain productive investor relationships.
- Loan Reporting & Accounting: Ensure accurate loan portfolio balancing and timely reporting; resolve corrections or adjustments and enhance reporting tools and processes.
- Pre-Boarding & Quality Control: Establish and oversee pre-boarding and quality-control reviews to support accurate boarding, regulatory reporting and portfolio balancing; analyze errors and drive corrective action.
- Business Partnership & Governance: Serve as the subject-matter expert and primary liaison for loan servicing, reporting, lending and other business areas; coordinate responses to investor, regulator and auditor inquiries.
- Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, coach and develop managers and team members; maintain succession and contingency coverage, oversee training and employee processes, manage staffing and support department budgeting.
- Modernization & Continuous Improvement: Develop scalable tools, metrics and workflows that improve accuracy, efficiency, controls and the customer and employee experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 10+ years of lending experience with a strong understanding of banking operations, risk management and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience, including 5+ years of supervisory experience leading, coaching and mentoring teams.
- 5+ years of experience implementing technology enhancements and process changes within a multi-level department.
- Knowledge of consumer, residential and commercial lending structures, loan documentation, systems operations, financial accounting, reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to develop and implement a strategic vision for loan operations and build teams and processes in fast-paced environments.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and data-informed decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills with executives, managers, employees, regulators and examiners.
- Demonstrated leadership skills that empower others, establish standards, resolve issues, support change and improve team productivity.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain data integrity.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, training, work allocation, performance management and resolution of employee concerns.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed in a normal office environment; noise levels are usually moderate.
- Prolonged sitting.
- Lifting from 5 to 10 lbs., including printer paper and storage boxes.
- Occasional bending or overhead lifting when storing files or boxes.
- May involve travel to customers and property locations.
PAY AND BENEFITS
Pay Details: $123,900 - $177,000 annually
Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate’s skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
