Item Processing Service Representative II

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is an intermediate role within the bank’s back-office operations within the Deposit Operations Division. The incumbent is responsible for performing daily functions associated to tasks performed in Item Processing such as Fraud Review, Exception Processing, Account Adjustments, etc. The candidate will work in a team environment, though they will be trained and assigned to department tasks with the ability to work independently. The appointee is expected to perform routine and less complex non-routine functions of the job. Their contribution will also include the collaboration on team assignments associated with assisting others, working with complex inquiries and additional problem resolution.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs tasks related to balancing, reporting and research functions associated with but not limited to Item Processing functions such as, (Exception Processing, Account Adjustments &
  • Cash Letter Settlements), inclusive of data entry and file maintenance processing responsibilities. 
  • Reviews suspect fraud transactions and uses good judgement when decisioning the same for payment and/or return.        
  • Is responsible for responding to customer, vendor and other business line inquiries and provides such assistance in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participates in training and development programs as required. Follows all procedural and regulatory guidelines and will assist others as needed to complete departmental objectives.
  • Responds to requests by management to perform related activities and exercises, performing less complex tasks, including adjustments & reconcilements.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in bank operations preferred.
  • Communicates professionally and can clearly & concisely present ideas and respond
  • to inquiries and representatives from other business lines.
  • Understands Reg CC, UCC, Reg J and Check 21.
  • General PC skills associated with, and navigating through Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Zoom

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is mainly performed in a normal office environment.  Noise levels usually are moderate.

  • Prolonged sitting
  • Lifting from 5 to 10 lbs. (printer paper, storage boxes)
  • Occasional bending or overhead lifting (storing files or boxes)
  • The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting.

Pay Details:

$20.00 - $24.97 hourly

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. 

 

This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
