POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provident is seeking a highly experienced data engineering leader to drive critical enterprise initiatives, including the establishment of a centralized enterprise data ecosystem, the successful completion of the core banking (IBS) migration, and the enablement of a scalable data foundation to enhance in-house reporting and analytics capabilities.
This role is foundational to the future-state data ecosystem and operating model. Reporting to the Head of Data Analytics and Governance, the role will lead the data engineering practice while also driving delivery through a cross-functional agile POD in close collaboration with data platform, data architecture, data governance, and analytics engineering teams.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the enterprise data ecosystem meets immediate IBS-driven requirements while positioning the organization to support future enterprise analytics, regulatory, and reporting needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Enterprise Data Engineering Delivery: Own the design and execution of a centralized enterprise data ecosystem, ensuring successful core banking (IBS) migration and the enablement of scalable data pipelines to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Drive Cross‑Functional Agile Execution: Lead the data engineering practice while delivering outcomes through a cross‑functional agile POD, collaborating closely with data platform, data architecture, data governance, and analytics engineering teams.
- Enable Future‑State Data Architecture: Ensure the data ecosystem meets immediate IBS-driven requirements while establishing scalable, secure, and governed foundations to support future enterprise analytics, regulatory, and reporting needs.
- Provide Strategic & Technical Leadership: Partner with the Head of Data Analytics and Governance to shape the future-state data operating model, enforce engineering standards, and drive disciplined execution across evolving architectural components.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive domain expertise in banking and financial services, with a strong understanding of regulatory, reporting, and risk management requirements.
- 15+ years of experience in the banking and financial services industry, including senior leadership of large-scale data and engineering teams.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide data engineering initiatives, including building data ecosystems from the ground up in greenfield or transformation environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple core banking platforms, ensuring data readiness for downstream analytics, reporting, and regulatory use cases.
- Strong track record of driving engineering delivery in complex environments where architecture is evolving, while maintaining execution discipline and delivery rigor.
- Hands on experience in Snowflake, DBT and/or other cloud-based SaaS analytics platforms
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES:
- The Open Group Architecture Framework 8.0 or above.

Pay Details:
$ 107,800 - $154,000 annually
Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs.
This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
