Enterprise Workload Automation & Operations Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Enterprise Workload Automation & Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of the Bank’s enterprise batch processing and operational monitoring environments. This role combines enterprise workload orchestration with real‑time IT operations monitoring to ensure that critical, time‑sensitive business processes run successfully and within defined service level agreements.

The incumbent independently monitors and supports automated job flows, managed file transfers, and infrastructure alerts across multiple platforms, performing incident triage, root cause analysis, and coordinated escalation as needed. This role requires strong technical judgment, the ability to operate in a high‑availability environment, and effective communication with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Workload Automation & Batch Operations

  • Monitor enterprise workload automation platforms and managed file transfer solutions to ensure scheduled jobs and data flows complete successfully and on time.
  • Perform first‑level troubleshooting of failed or delayed batch jobs and execute approved restarts, force‑completes, or recovery actions in accordance with runbooks and documented standards.
  • Ensure critical business processes complete within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs), escalating issues as required.

 

IT Operations Monitoring

  • Serve as secondary “eyes‑on‑glass” for infrastructure and network monitoring tools, responding to alerts and incidents according to documented procedures.
  • Coordinate incident resolution with internal IT teams and external vendors when issues cannot be resolved at the operational level.

 

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance runbooks, standard operating procedures, and recovery documentation.
  • Produce operational reports and trend analysis related to workload health, SLA performance, and recurring issues.
  • Contribute to process improvements that increase system reliability and operational efficiency.

 

Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with technology teams, business partners, and vendors during incidents and service disruptions.
  • Evaluate vendor performance against established SLAs and support ongoing service improvement efforts.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in on‑call or after‑hours support as dictated by business needs.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned, to support departmental and organizational objectives.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with enterprise workload automation or batch processing tools (e.g., Control‑M, Automic, ActiveBatch, Airflow, or similar).
  • Experience supporting IT operations, NOC, or data center environments.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.
  • Familiarity with managed file transfer protocols (SFTP, HTTPS, AS2).
  • Experience with IT service management tools and incident response processes (ServiceNow preferred).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.

Preferred

  • Banking or financial services technology experience.
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
  • ITIL Foundation certification.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and extensive relevant experience.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

         Work is typically performed in an office environment.  Noise levels are usually moderate.

  • Prolonged sitting
  • Lifting from 5 to 10 lbs. (printer paper, storage boxes)
  • Occasional bending or overhead lifting (storing files or boxes)

HAZARDS

The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting and those present in commuting by car. Occasionally, they may be exposed to those conditions present in public forums and meeting places.

Pay Details:
$77,000-$110,000 annually

 

Please note: The base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate’s skills and experience, job‑related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs.

 

This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
