CTR Specialist Lead

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) CTR Specialist Lead position serves as an expert research specialist performing a wide range of functions with a high level of difficulty and complexity. This role will be mainly responsible for monitoring and reviewing day to day BSA/AML cash transactions that generate via the Bank’s electronic CTR system, identify reportable transactions and accurately and timely file all requires CTR reports. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring CTR Exempt customers remain eligible within this status; including but not limited to DOEP filings and annual reviews.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 
Monitor and review CTR alerts generated in the Verafin CTR system and verify that the pertinent information is entered for each CTR, and make any necessary adjustments prior to electronically filing to FinCEN. 
- 
Contact branch staff, when and if necessary, to validate transactions involved in completing a CTR. Monitor banking branch staff for proper CTR compliance and send non-compliance notices when necessary. Answer day-to-day BSA/AML related questions, provide guidance and direction to branch staff. Determine when activity warrants escalation for Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) consideration and elevate to BSA Investigations for further review.

Perform periodic review and monitoring of CTR Exempt customers, including filing of DOEP Exemption forms, DOEP revocation forms, and reviewing frequent CTR filers if eligible for an exempt status. 
 Analyze and interpret monthly key risk indicators and statistics to identify operational issues requiring further attention. Also, assess the effectiveness of systems, processes and tools used to monitor CTR risks and identify opportunities for improvement.

Assist management with ad-hoc projects as well as clearing sanction alerts generated from a variety of sources and maintain thorough documentation of analysis performed, when needed. 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 24 to 48 months of CTR reconciliation experience
- Must be able document calls while talking to branch associates through a headset and use a computer to read and enter information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical
- Maintained knowledge of the banks Policies and Procedures
- Strong situation assessment skills – able to escalate as needed
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skillsThree to five years of banking and/or BSA/AML related experience and/or training.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is mainly performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels usually are moderate.

Pay Details:
$29.59 - $36.97
Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
