AVP, Senior Network Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position oversees the daily operations involved with technical project support and information technology related user/system support including phone support, technical installations, technical requirements and distributed computer services. Directs and coordinates local area/wide area computer network activities by performing the following duties personally. Specializes in network monitoring, security and management.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, order, and monitor installation and integration of hardware in the network, including routers, switches, servers, power systems, and cables.

  • Provide support and maintain assets of the existing LAN/WAN network environment and plan and implement new technologies, such as routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.

  • Manage switching, routing, firewalls, LANs, WLANs, TCP/IP, VPNs, and VoIP.

  • Plan solutions for network solutions of very high bandwidth.

  • Coordinate with vendors, management, and individuals to ensure project targets are met.

  • Ensure that network resources are being used effectively and site records and documentation are accurate.

  • Provide regular reporting to senior management as needed.

  • Performs other duties as required.

     

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  •     Minimum 5 years’ experience commensurate with job function.   
  •     Working knowledge of Computers, Operating Systems, Software defined WAN, LAN.
  •     Excellent inter-personal communication skills.
  •     Working knowledge of networking protocols.
  •     Ability to analyze and organize statistical data and prepare comprehensive reports.
  •     Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of management.
  •     Ability to accurately handle multiple projects simultaneously
  •     Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering or a related discipline preferred

 

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES

      •    Preferred but not required with equivalent work experience – Cisco CCENT, CCNA, or CCNP
