AVP, Senior Enterprise Architect

POSITION SUMMARY

This role will support the design and implementation of the bank’s technology infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business strategies and goals. This role involves collaborating with senior architects and cross-functional teams to optimize systems, integrate new technologies, and maintain architectural consistency across the organization.

 

  MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the enterprise architecture, ensuring that technology systems align with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Work with senior architects to integrate new technologies into the bank’s existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless functionality and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to identify areas for improvement in current systems and recommend solutions to enhance performance, security, and scalability.
  • Contribute to architecture documentation, such as Technical Impact Assessment, Solution Design, and Total Cost of Ownership, to ensure enterprise-wide consistency.
  • Engage with various departments, including IT, security, and business teams, to ensure that architecture aligns with regulatory requirements and business needs.
  • Assist in defining the technical scope of IT projects, helping ensure that projects are executed in alignment with the overall architecture strategy.

 

    

SKILLS AND TRAINING

  • Understanding of key architecture concepts like system design, integration, and infrastructure.
  • Ability to assess existing systems, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements.
  • Strong aptitude for analyzing complex data and workflows to develop strategic solutions.
  • Experience or familiarity with relevant technologies like cloud computing (AWS, Azure), databases, networking, and security.
  • Understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), APIs, and microservices.
  • Ability to understand how different components of the IT environment interact within the enterprise, including hardware, software, and business applications.
  • Clear communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Capable of documenting and presenting architecture strategies and technical designs.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, often interacting with developers, business analysts, and project managers.
  • Skilled in gathering input from different departments to ensure cohesive architectural planning.
  • Meticulous in documenting architecture artifacts, roadmaps, and standards.

 

 

  EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  WORK EXPERIENCE

 Minimum 5 years’ experience commensurate with job function.

Bank experience preferred, but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The work is performed mainly in a normal office environment.  Noise levels are usually moderate.
