CRE Credit Analyst II

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for detailed research, financial spreading, extensions, and credit analysis of credit requests for the Commercial Real Estate Department. This is an intermediate position.  The incumbent is expected to be proficient in credit & risk analysis, credit rules, regulations, and documentation with the ability to exercise independent judgment within established Underwriting Guidelines and Credit Policy.  The incumbent will handle transactions with relationship exposure less than $12,500,000 (i.e. smaller relationship exposure under Regional Approval Authority – Level 7 or below). 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare loan approvals, annual reviews and conduct and credit analysis for new requests, in addition to modifications and short term extension of existing loans.
  • Prepare and analyze cash flows and project economics, detailed property descriptions and market analysis, tenancy analysis, property valuations, guarantor/sponsor personal financial statements and cash flows, and schedule of real estate holding analysis.
  • Conduct third party research, inclusive of industry reports, personal credit reports, real estate analysis with market assessments, etc.
  • Support deal structuring activities
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years in commercial credit underwriting. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in with preferred concentration in Finance, Accounting or Economics. 
  • Proficient underwriting and credit analysis skills.
  • Developed analytical skills with ability to identify strengths and mitigate risks.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial investment real estate (may exclude construction).
  • Proficient in CRE investment lending including project economics and debt service.
  • Strong computer skills, inclusive of experience with loan origination software and MS Office applications (specifically Word and Excel). 
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple credit requests and complete them on time.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is mainly performed in a normal office environment.  Noise levels usually are moderate.

 

HAZARDS

The hazards are only those present in a normal office setting.
