Field Support Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
Field Support Technicians are responsible for performing day-to-day tasks related to IT technical support, including, but not limited to the deployment, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of IT-related computer systems, hardware, and peripherals throughout the organization. Field Support Technicians also act as a point-of-escalation for Help Desk and work in conjunction with the Systems Engineers that are part of the Field Support & End User Computing team. This is considered an entry-level position within the Field Support team with the opportunity to gain experience, develop, and advance within the vertical.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides support, both on-site and remotely, to deploy, install, monitor, and troubleshoot all Provident applications and systems under the Field Support and End User Computing team’s responsibility.
- Interacts with other internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
- Assists with end-to-end hardware and software asset management, including imaging, deployment, reclamation, decommission, and disposal.
- Provides coverage of core hours as part of a team.
- Completes other duties and tasks as assigned by Field Support Team Lead and/or the Field Support & End User Computing Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Does not require managing staff.
EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma/GED required
• Associate’s degree in IT/Information Systems preferred, but not mandatory
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least 2 years IT-related work experience
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES:
• IT-related licenses and certifications are not required, but beneficial
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Travel required for on-site visits
• Lifting from 5 to 60 lbs (PCs, servers, printers, and other IT-equipment)
• Bending or overhead lifting (installation of hardware, troubleshooting equipment)
Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. May also involve travel to customers and property locations.
HAZARDS:
The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting and those present in commuting by car. Occasionally may be exposed to those conditions present in public forums and meeting places.
