Closing Coordinator III, Consumer Lending

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Closing Coordinator III performs routine and non-routine daily functions associated with closing Consumer Loans. This position is directly responsible for the pre-closing, closing, and post-closing of Consumer Loans.  This role is responsible for a knowledge and understanding of the Consumer Loan Policies, Procedures and Guidelines. May perform any one or all of the duties listed below in a senior capacity.  Closing Coordinator III is expected to show leadership in training less experienced staff members or assigned to handle more complex and/or challenging tasks..

 

This position  can be based out of our offices in Oak Ridge, NJ or Woodbridge, NJ.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for ensuring all Consumer Loans are closed timely and accurately, and ensure all loans follow Loan Policy, Internal Procedures, and Regulations.
  • Work closely with borrowers, branches, and underwriters to assist in clearing closing conditions and verify all requirements are met for loan closings.  Responsible for independently responding to borrower(s) inquiries.
  • Preparation of Closing Disclosures to ensure financial accuracy and that all documents are prepared according to TRID requirements.
  • Schedules loan closings with the branch, borrower(s), and settlement agent (if applicable), and prepares closing docs including all required regulatory disclosures.  Ensures loan closing documents are prepared in accordance with loan policy as well as state and federal compliance requirements
  • Organize and review all completed signed closing documents to ensure accuracy, and to initiate funding.  Responsible for funding loans within regulation timeline, and prepare, issue, and send all disbursement checks, ACH’s, wires, etc.
  • Update customer files and update loan origination system as necessary for HMDA reporting.
  • Record all mortgages within a timely manner and upload into the current loan system upon receipt of the recorded mortgage.
  • Download Consumer Loans to current loan system, and submit file to Records Department within a timely manner.
  • Assist in the training and development of fellow employees and/or new hires.
  • Assist with Consumer Lending reports, policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 – 7 years related work experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of Consumer Lending and Regulations
  • Familiarity with HMDA requirements
  • Ability to clearly/concisely communicate with branches, borrowers, bank review attorney, settlement agents, correspondents and colleagues the process and procedures for closing a consumer mortgage loan.
  • Excellent organizational/customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workflow/loan pipeline.
  • Ability to understand and manage underwriting and legal conditions.
  • Ability to answer questions and/or resolve conflict within the department.
  • Computer literacy:  familiarity with / Windows/Excel/Word

LICENSING REQUIREMENT (SAFE Act)

  • This position requires registration with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) in compliance with the SAFE Act. Candidates must be eligible to register and maintain active status upon hire.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. This position involves travel to customers and property locations.

  • Occasional bending or overhead lifting (storing files or boxes)
  • The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting

Pay Details:

$25.33 - $31.69 hourly

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. 

 

This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
