Portfolio Manager I - C & I

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction, this position’s primary responsibilities include all aspects of portfolio management as relates to assigned portfolio loans together with the cross selling of Bank products and services.  A primary responsibility includes the preparation of comprehensive financial reviews and Loan Offering Analyses that evaluate the prospective financing properties, incorporating complex underwriting to include cash flow analysis, project economics and valuation, guarantor analysis, market analysis and recommendation.  The loan analyses include both commercial loan and commercial permanent owner-occupied mortgages or commercial construction and commercial permanent mortgages. 

 

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs portfolio management responsibilities including:                                         
    • Work with existing portfolio customers in an effort to increase and retain loan volume and cross sell Bank products and services.
    • Transaction negotiation and preparation of Loan Offering Analysis of existing loans in connection with renewals and modifications; facilitates closing of the transaction.
    • Performs continued Delinquency Control.
    • Prepares annual reviews of existing loans to access credit quality and covenant compliance; performs property inspections.
    • Promotes customer relations.                                                                      
  • Prepares Loan Offering Analyses, which include the following:
    • Detailed property descriptions and market analysis.
    • Detailed analysis of financial statements.
  • Project economics, income and expense analysis, tenancy analysis, and property valuations and discounted cash flow models.
    • Construction budget analysis with determination of sources and uses of funds.
    • Borrower and Guarantor analysis.
    • Assess lending risks, clearly identify offsetting mitigants and summarize recommendations.         
  • Complete special projects as directed by the department head.                                       

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

       None

SKILLS AND TRAINING

  • Comprehensive financial analysis experience.
  • Comprehensive loan analysis experience in respective discipline.
  • Strong verb and written communicative and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel & Argus), financial analysis programs
  • and discounted cash flow models.
  • Strong customer services skills.

  EDUCATION

       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

  WORK EXPERIENCE

       3 - 5 years related within financial industry

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a normal office environment.  Noise levels are usually moderate.  May include travel by automobile.

 

HAZARDS

The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting and those present in commuting locally by car.         Occasionally may be exposed to those conditions present in public forums and meeting places.
