Tax Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Assist in preparing calculations for tax provisions, track tax prepayments and true-ups, and filing of tax reports with the tax authorities. Understand applicable tax regulations and keep up-to-date on new or changing tax regulations. Assist in preparing and responding to requests for tax audits and tax advisors. Evaluate and impalement tax strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure timely filing of all tax reports, income tax, sales and use tax and make timely payments as required. Oversee tax related matters (income tax, VAT, GST, withholding tax, etc.). Work with Accounting team to understand and incorporate changes to tax provisions based on forecasts and other factors. Provide information requests and coordinate review by external tax advisors.
- Oversee accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) for the Parent and subsidiaries including acting as primary point of contact with external audit tax team.
- Assist Accounting and SEC reporting teams in month-end close, financial reporting and projects, as needed. Work with the SEC reporting team to help update disclosures relating to income taxes in all publicly filed documents, as well as internal management reporting.
- Monitor legislative changes in tax laws that may impact the company's tax positions, including tax accounting implications. Oversee tax planning by establishing formal tax policies, practices, and procedures to ensure US GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Manage audits of federal and state income tax by tax authorities and internal/external auditors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Expertise and technical aptitude related to tax accounting principles, SOX, ASC 740, U.S. GAAP, statutory, premium tax, and federal and state income tax concepts.
- Experience at a public high growth company with at least $500 million in revenue.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, solve problems, draw valid conclusions and make actionable recommendations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Excellent business-acumen with a consultative approach to management
- Strong project management skills; ability to effectively lead implementation of key business initiatives.
- Strong drive for data integrity and organizational alignment.
EDUCATION:
- BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or similar field.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years total professional tax experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA preferred but not required

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate.
