POSITION SUMMARY:           

As the Strategic Planning Director at Provident Bank, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of the bank's overall strategic plan, analyzing market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the bank's strategy aligns with its goals, all within the context of the regional banking landscape. Essentially, you will guide the bank's long-term direction by identifying potential markets, products, and initiatives to achieve sustainable growth. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Market analysis. Conduct in-depth research on the regional market, including competitor analysis, economic trends, demographic shifts, and regulatory changes to identify potential opportunities and threats. 
  • Strategic plan development. Lead the process of creating a comprehensive strategic plan, defining the bank's vision, mission, and key objectives, and outlining actionable strategies to achieve them. 
  • Growth strategy development. Identify potential new markets, customer segments, and product offerings to drive revenue growth and expand the bank's market share. 
  • Financial modeling. Develop financial projections and forecasts to evaluate the feasibility of strategic initiatives and inform decision-making. 
  • Performance monitoring. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of the strategic plan and make necessary adjustments based on results.  Establish and track business line profitability.
  • Cross-functional collaboration. Work closely with various departments within the bank, including marketing, operations, and lending, to ensure alignment with the strategic plan. 
  • Communication and stakeholder management. Effectively communicate the strategic plan to senior management, board members, and other key stakeholders. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education. Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience required. 10+ years as a strategic planning director, or related roles within the banking sector. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in commercial banking financial modeling required.
  • Strategic thinking skills. Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop long-term strategies 
  • Analytical skills. Strong proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and market research 
  • Leadership skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence decision-making across the organization 
  • Communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability  to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences 
  • Industry knowledge. Deep understanding of the regional banking landscape, regulations, and competitive dynamics 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate.

  • Prolonged sitting
  • Lifting from 5 to 10 lbs. (printer paper, storage boxes)
  • Occasional bending or overhead lifting (storing files or boxes)
  • The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting
