SBA Relationship Manager II
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced SBA Relationship Manager II to lead the end-to-end origination, evaluation, and structuring of complex commercial loan transactions within the SBA 504 and 7A programs. This role is responsible for driving business development, managing a high-performing loan portfolio, and ensuring compliance with SBA program requirements while delivering exceptional client service.
The ideal candidate brings strong credit judgment, deep knowledge of SBA lending regulations, and a proven ability to grow market presence through relationship-building and strategic portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Relationship Management
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities through referral sources and existing relationships
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive retention and long-term growth
- Expand the Bank’s SBA lending presence and market visibility
Loan Origination, Structuring & Compliance
- Structure SBA 504 and 7A loan transactions in alignment with program guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Ensure all loan packages protect the SBA guaranty and adhere to internal policies
- Maintain deep expertise in SBA regulations, policies, and procedures
Credit Analysis & Risk Assessment
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to assess borrower capacity, creditworthiness, and risk exposure
- Identify risk factors and recommend appropriate mitigants
- Deliver well-supported credit recommendations and structure complex transactions
Portfolio Management
- Manage and grow a profitable loan portfolio in accordance with Bank standards
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively address risk trends
- Identify and execute cross-sell opportunities across the Bank’s product suite
Loan Execution & Closing
- Oversee preparation of loan presentations and credit packages
- Facilitate loan closings while ensuring compliance with approved terms and conditions
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless transaction execution
Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing SBA training, webinars, and industry education
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in SBA lending (504 and/or 7A programs)
- Demonstrated success in loan origination, underwriting, and portfolio management
- Financial & Credit Expertise: Loan analysis, underwriting, financial modeling
- SBA & Regulatory Knowledge: SBA policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- Business Development: Strong relationship management and revenue generation skills
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Credit Lens, and Connections Anywhere

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. May also involve travel to customers and property locations.

$99,400 - $163,300/annually
Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs.
This role participates in a lucrative incentive plan, tied to company business and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
