POSITION OVERVIEW:
This experienced position, operating under general direction, is responsible for comprehensive portfolio management and the cross-selling of bank products. Candidate should have an advanced knowledge of SBA 7(a) and 504 loans. Primary duties include the preparation of detailed financial reviews and Loan Offering Analyses that evaluate financing properties using complex underwriting, cash flow analysis, project economics, valuation, and guarantor/market analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs portfolio management responsibilities including:
- SBA Expertise & Compliance: Utilize extensive knowledge of SBA policies and procedures to protect the validity of the SBA guarantee when structuring new loans and servicing/modifying existing ones.
- Customer Consultation & Sales: Conduct initial interviews with customers to explain SBA products and structure loans; solicit existing portfolio customers to increase retention, loan volume, and cross-selling bank products.
- Eligibility & Negotiation: Verify borrower eligibility with all SBA guidelines and regulations; lead transaction negotiations.
- Analysis & Closings: Prepare SBA Loan Offering Analysis for modifications and new business transactions; facilitate the closing of all transactions.
- Portfolio Oversight: Perform continued delinquency control, complete annual reviews to assess credit quality and covenant compliance and conduct property inspections as required.
- Relationship Management: Promote and maintain strong customer relations.
- Solicits: existing portfolio customers to increase and retain loan volume and cross sell Bank products and services.
Prepares loan offering analyses, which include the following:
- Credit Analysis & Underwriting: Prepare comprehensive credit packages, deal discussions, annual reviews, 10-day review memos, CRMR’s and conduct initial underwriting.
- Financial & Property Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of financial statements, project economics, income/expense reports, tenancy, property valuations, and discounted cash flow models.
- Construction Review: Conduct construction budget analysis, including the determination of sources and uses of funds.
- Risk Management: Assess all lending risks, clearly identify offsetting mitigants, and summarize recommendations effectively.
- Legal & Closing Coordination: Maintain close liaison with the bank’s attorney to coordinate and attend loan closings.
- Servicing & Resolution: Prepare modification memos for post-closing servicing actions and work closely with borrowers to resolve issues as they arise.
Complete special projects directed by the department head.
Participate in SBA training and webinars
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 4-6 years’ minimum relevant SBA Lending experience
- SBA Program Expertise: Possess thorough knowledge of all SBA SOPs, procedures, products, and policies.
- Analytical Skills: Proven experience in financial and loan analysis, coupled with strong verbal, written, and analytical skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in essential software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Credit Lens, financial analysis programs, and discounted cash flow models.
- Operational Knowledge: Knowledgeable regarding current SBA policy, general loan standards, loan review administration, and banking/OCC procedures.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and maintain portfolio/department operations without constant supervision.
- Customer Focus: Strong customer service skills and orientation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is mainly performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels usually are moderate.

Pay Details:
$99,400 - $142,000 annually
Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs.
This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
