POSITION SUMMARY
The Organizational Development (OD) Manager is responsible for creating and implementing programs that improve employee skills, performance, and experience. This role works closely with a variety of stakeholders, including HR colleagues, leadership, and employees, completing needs assessments and designing and delivering programs that align with the company's strategic goals.
This role reports to the SVP, Organizational Development Director. The primary work location is at our administrative headquarters in Iselin, NJ with regional travel to other locations for in-person work as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and implementing OD programs: This includes designing and delivering professional training and leadership development programs tailored to the needs of the organization, including, but not limited to, material development or adaptation and facilitating programs through a variety of delivery methods and one-on-one coaching.
- Culture Champion and Change Agent: This role acts as a Culture Champion for Employee Experience initiatives and our Guiding Principles, including supporting the feedback process for employee surveys, and facilitating small and large group employee forums. Supports employees and leaders in navigating organizational
- Talent assessment and action planning: This role will establish strong trusting relationships with leaders and employees to gather feedback and support OD initiatives. Working with leaders and HR colleagues, the OD Manager will conduct a cadence of talent and training needs assessments to identify bright spots and developmental opportunities through the management resource planning process to support business goals. Leveraging these assessments and other observations, the OD Manager recommends organizational initiatives to improve performance for individuals and teams. Provides intervention training to increase retention of job-specific skills/behaviors.
- Administration, measuring and evaluating: Tracking the effectiveness of OD programs, providing data to demonstrate impact and adjust as needed. Oversee the management of the training calendar and schedule to ensure development opportunities are well promoted and structured for the optimal employee experience.
- Advising leadership: Providing insights and recommendations to senior leaders on OD matters, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. This includes interviewing, hiring, training and managing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing and resolving employee complaints and concerns
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 7+ years of Leadership training experience
- Advanced certifications in training and coaching tools strongly preferred, e.g., Predictive Index, HOGAN, 360-degree review methods and tools, etc.
- A compelling and influential leader. The OD Manager is a persuasive communicator with the ability to connect with people at every level of the organization.
- Demonstrates excellent critical thinking skills with an ability to distill and analyze complex matters and communicate analysis and solutions in easy-to-understand terms.
- An outstanding relationship builder, the OD manager will be expected to collaborate effectively with HR colleagues and leadership across the business lines and functional groups.
- He/she will be a compelling facilitator and a true team player with a demonstrated desire to see the team and organization be successful.
- A highly organized individual, with a strong command of the tools and techniques to organize and deliver work through the MS office suite and learning management systems.
- Strong understanding of leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, and change management principles.
- Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutions to improve organizational performance.
- Regional travel is required, primarily within New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. This requires the ability to travel by car as public transportation is not always an option.

- Work is performed in a normal office and training classroom environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. May also involve travel to customers and property locations.
