POSITION OVERVIEW:
The HR Business Partner at Provident Bank provides support to employees across the organization. The position partners across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP demonstrates an effective level of business acumen to support the strategic initiatives and aligns the people strategy.
We are seeking candidates who have comprehensive knowledge of the Human Resources function, ability to exercise independent judgment within the established company policies, displays initiative by training less experienced colleagues or willingly takes on more challenging and/complex assignments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works in conjunction with managers and employees to ensure effective coordination and timely completion of performance reviews, job descriptions and other related activities and assists in the development and distribution of performance management materials to the appropriate employees.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Coaches’ local management in conducting performance assessment and proper employee professional development. Provides advice and guidance with management's assistance on the interpretation of bank policies as they relate to individual and company objectives.
- Provides support and participates in all areas of the employment experience including interviews, terminations, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions with management's assistance as necessary. Coordinates and maintains reports for management relative to various areas of the department, including but not limited to exit interviews, job posting, employee service awards, employee referrals, etc.
- Works with management in assisting managers and employees in resolving human resource related problems, which may include performance issues and progressive discipline.
- Participates in special projects as necessary. Develops formal plans for carrying out assigned projects using appropriate planning methods. Directs and executes assigned projects including data collection, project design and development. Makes appropriate recommendations and ensures effective implementation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 7 years related HR Business Partner experience in supporting strategic initiatives within Retail Banking and or Financial Industry
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Extensive and proven knowledge of and HR administration and applicable government regulations of employee programs.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer operations, specifically Microsoft Office, HRIS and Compensation software applications.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executives, managers, legal staff, employees and outside auditors and vendors.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the job functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare written reports, correspondences and presentations to senior management.

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate.
