POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Government Banking Officer manages our government banking business and team, consistent with the strategic initiatives of the Bank, and develops tactical processes to grow the business.

This position serves as the Bank’s contact for municipal and public-sector clients, focused on the delivery of customized deposit products and Treasury Solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the day to day of Government Banking operations; assigns annual goals and overall success of the department and team. Approves departmental transactions including wires, ACH limits and RDC limits in accordance with authorities given.
  • Maintains the Bank’s existing Government client relationships, by providing exceptional service and expert knowledge, in accordance with the Bank’s policies, procedures and profitability measurements.
  • Develops strategies to generate new business and retain existing relationships. Introduces products and services to build revenue and allow clients to operate more efficiently. Performs business development activities including sales calls and prospecting to establish new client relationships that meet bank profitability objectives. 
  • Research and develop new products to meet client needs and build revenue.
  • Meets with COI's to obtain new client opportunities. Develops presentations to COI's to increase sales of new products and services.
  • Attends annual conferences and seminars to identify new client opportunities and promote the Bank’s position in the market.
  • Prepares and reviews proposals and request for proposal responses.
  • Presents and deliveries proposals to customers and their respective boards, as needed.
  • Participates in committee meetings as directed by Executive Management. Conducts meetings with direct reports to review results.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight years related management experience.
  • Three years’ business development experience.
  • Prior experience working with government agencies.
  • Strong work ethic with a desire to succeed.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills. 
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. This position involves travel to customers and property locations.

Pay Details:

$114,100 - $163,000 annually

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. 

This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
