Commercial Business Development Officer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Commercial Business Development Officer is responsible for growing the bank’s core deposits, treasury management services through referrals, self-sourced efforts and partnering with the Commercial Lending team.

 

The Commercial Business Development Officer identifies, develops and sources new commercial banking business and maintains a quality network of relationships and referrals generated from other sources. The successful candidate will be measured by their ability to cultivate leads, secure new client acquisitions, and contribute to the commercial bank’s overall revenue and growth.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As Business Development Officer (BDO), your primary focus is driving growth by identifying, prospecting, and acquiring new commercial banking customers with over $25MM in annual revenue.
  • Drive the business development and outbound sales execution for soliciting new deposits, lending and treasury management services.
  • Leverage market intelligence to identify untapped opportunities and optimize outreach strategies.
  • Develop and execute a strategic prospecting plan to build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Work with marketing to implement go-to market strategies and create client outreach strategies and communications.
  • Cultivate leads, drive new revenue and collaborate with all segments across the commercial bank including Beacon Wealth Management, Lending, Branch Teams and Provident Protection Plus.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or seven years of related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of proven success in a commercial banking environment, relationship manager or similar sales role, with a focus on new client acquisition and business development.
  • Proven record of Business Development and new client acquisition.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiations skills
  • Strong understanding of all banking products and treasury management services
  • Strong credit analysis, risk analysis and commercial lending skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills; demonstrated tactical business development and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking products and services, including credit.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to offer comprehensive and customized solutions that best meet client needs.
  • Monitors and research market/industry trends and business outcomes to anticipate client needs and present proactive solutions

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. This position involves travel to customers and property locations.

Pay Details:

$92,300 - $151,600 annually

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. 

 

This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
