Compliance Associate
POSITION SUMMARY
Under general direction, this individual contributor conducts compliance reviews of files, bank records, and operating procedures to determine adherence to securities and trust regulations and makes recommendations relating to process changes, training, and/or corrective action to business line management in order to fulfill regulatory requirements for the Beacon affiliates of Provident Financial Services. Must possess knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, including but not limited to Investment Adviser’s Act, Investment Company Act, Department of Labor Rules, State Rules, Regulation R, E-Sign Act, etc. A certain degree of creativity, diplomacy and latitude is required.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts compliance monitoring review and testing of various controls in accordance with SEC Rules 38a-1, 206(4)-7, Investment Advisor’s Act, Investment Company Act, trust codes, and any other applicable regulatory body rule sets; effectively documents and communicates report results and provides recommendations

Analyzes and appraises current state processes, gap analysis and implementing steps to develop end state aligned to regulatory guidance in conjunction with Beacon Chief Compliance Officer
Conducts follow up with shared services business units and other functions on items as directed by Beacon Chief Compliance Officer, including implementation and status of monitoring review recommendations and/or findings and escalates unresolved issues appropriately on behalf of Beacon -
Coordinate and assist the Beacon Chief Compliance Officer with policy and procedure implementation, systems, training, or controls to reduce risk for Beacon Trust.

Participates in administration functions of the Beacon Compliance Department, including assisting with regulatory and internal exams, due diligence requests, regulatory inquiries, customer complaints, and special requests inclusive of gathering of data and providing to the appropriate bodies including production of board and committee materials.

SKILLS AND TRAINING
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidance related to Investment Adviser’s Act, Investment Company Act, Uniform Trust Code, and SEC standards.
- General knowledge of financial products and various fiduciary standards.
- Knowledge RIA and Trust operations, industry standard practices, and applicable laws, regulation, rules, statues and codes and their practical applications. Bank and Insurance knowledge is also preferred.
- Familiarity with SalesForce and custodian-based platforms
- Must have excellent analytical, problem-solving and time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; must be a proactive self-starter.
- Must possess strong oral and written communications skills; must be comfortable with fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard banking documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write/create reports.
- Ability to clearly present analysis performed in a written and oral manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree and/or experience equivalent.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry is preferred
