Portfolio Manager II


Under general direction, this position’s primary responsibilities include all aspects of portfolio management as relates to assigned portfolio loans together with the cross selling of Bank products and services.  Additional responsibilities will include the facilitating of comprehensive Credit Analyses that evaluate the existing facilities in the portfolio. The loan analyses include both commercial loans, commercial permanent owner occupied mortgages, and/ or commercial construction.  This position is considered the more experienced job in the job family.




Performs portfolio management responsibilities including:

  • Facilitates the preparation of the Credit Underwriting and Analysis of existing loans in connection with renewals and modifications. Facilitates closing of the transaction.
  • Performs continued Delinquency Control.
  • Prepares annual reviews of existing loans to access credit quality and covenant compliance; Monitors receive and reviews periodic reporting received by customers to ensure compliance as well as to monitor performance; Monitors to ensure property inspections are performed in accordance to loan policy.
  • Engages outside vendors to perform Field Exams on customers as needed; facilitates process, reviews exams, prepares internal review pointing out any issues and recommending ways to mitigate issues. Helps to facilities the Loan Review process as well reviews by outside regulators.
  • Assists in the preparation of CRMR reports for the portfolio.
  • Solicits existing portfolio customers in an effort to increase and retain volume and cross sell Bank products and services. Promotes customer relations.
  • Assists Lenders and department manager to ensure customers are being serviced as needed.


Performs relationship management responsibilities on own portfolio of accounts including:

  • Portfolio management duties listed above as well as transaction negotiations for renewals, modifications, and new facilities for customers in his/her portfolio.
  • Promotes and monitors customer relationship.


Prepares Annual Reviews on existing customers with exposure over $1MMwhich include the following:

  • Detailed analysis of financial statements.
  • Detailed collateral analysis.
  • Detailed analysis of debt service and covenant compliance
  • Review of credit risk rating.
  • Borrower and Guarantor analysis.
  • Assesses lending risks, clearly identify offsetting mitigates and summarize recommendations.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            


Complete special projects as directed by the department head.







       Comprehensive financial analysis experience. Credit trained

       Comprehensive loan analysis experience in respective discipline.

       Strong verb and written communicative and analytical skills.

       Proficient with software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel & Argus), financial analysis programs

       and discounted cash flow models.

       Strong customer services skills.



       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration



       5 or more years related within financial industry

Work is performed in a normal office environment.  Noise levels are usually moderate.  May include travel by automobile.



The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting and those present in commuting locally by car.    Occasionally may be exposed to those conditions present in public forums and meeting places.
